The importance of Loose lead walking

Loose lead walking has never been more important with the more extensive laws around livestock and wildlife, our dogs need to be on a lead more and more.

It is no fun being dragged by a dog. When dog’s pulls on their lead walks are not enjoyable for you, your family or your dog. This can also lead to a stressed out dog being even more stressed and anxious.

It is not usually how we dreamed dog ownership would be.

A dog pulling on their lead can also contribute to pulled muscles and ligaments for your dog and injuries for you.

There are lots ways you can improve your dogs loose lead walking. The 1st and I think one of the most important things is getting your dogs focus on the handler instead of them being intent on getting to where they want to go.

Here at J Walkies Dog School we run Loose Lead Walking Workshops, 1-2-1 Training Packages and Training Walks when for whatever reason you are unable to do the majority of the training yourself

Please feel free to get in touch if you like our help with this
